Minnie has welcomed BIG blessing.  The 38-year-old actress gave birth to 9 lbs., 12 oz Henry Story Driver Friday. Minnie confirmed her pregnancy during a March Tonight Show appearance when Jay Leno remarked on her baby bump. She’s not identified the father but said he’ll play some part in her son’s life. Minnie had hoped to have a natural delivery. No word on whether that worked out or not. With a child that big, I doubt she was able to pull it off. Minnie plans on taking four month maternity leave. She warned fans that they could expect to see her “pudgy and fat, knocking around in Malibu and proud of it!”

Usher and his wife Tameka Foster are expecting their second child together. The couple welcomed Usher Raymond V, in November 2007.

The 28-year old singer talked about his family with Essence magazine in a July interview. He said his son, nicknamed Cinco, as an “extension of his union” with his wife. The were friends for years, 37-year old Tameka even worked as a stylist for a time. Cinco is Usher’s first child and Tameka’s fourth. She has three sons from a previous relationship. These two are going to be busy busy. Congratulations. Usher will kick off a Ladies Only Tour this fall.

Dakota Fanning donned a black dress, black heels, black nail polish and superstar smile for The Secret Life of Bees premier at the Toronto Film Festival.   The 14-year-old power actress did it up for the movie’s Friday premier.   The film was adapted from Sue Monk Kidd novel of the same name.

Lily Owens is a young girl who lives on a peach farm that her abusive father owns. Rosaleen black woman hired by Lily’s father to be a stand in mother for Lily (Her real mother died in a horrendous accident that happened when she was a toddler). but when Rosaleen insults some of the biggest racists in their town, Lily is forced to take Rosaleen and run away to a town Lily believer her mother once lived. They go to live with three estranged sisters on a honey farm, and Lily soon learns what it is like to have a real family.

Dakota plays Lilly. She’s joined by Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson(Rosaleen) and Oscar nominees Queen Latifah(August Boatwright) and Sophie Okonedo(May Boatwright). Dakota herself was the youngest person every nominated for a Screen Actors Guild for her role in I Am Sam. With this cast it’s no wonder the film is already getting Oscar buzz. Selana chatted with Twist the favorite song that’s she’s written and some folks are speculating that she’s talking about Nick Jones and his ex Miley Cyrus.

“My favorite song that I’ve written is called “I’m Sorry.” It’s about a boy I kind of fell for, but he couldn’t let his ex-girlfriend go, and it was really difficult. And I felt like in a way, I wasn’t good enough. So the song is basically me saying that I’m sorry that it didn’t work out or that she used to be who she was, but you have to let me in and you have to know that I’ll do everything I can to make you happy and be the best I can be. So that’s probably going to be the first one that I want to work on for my record. It will probably be the only ballad on the record, because I want the other stuff to be really fun. But that is probably going to be the most heartfelt one because it was the hardest time for me. That story actually happened to me.”

Doesn’t sound like Nick is the guy from the song. Selena said that she and “kind of fell” for the guy and she and Nick are solidly together as far as I know.Of course she could have written it during a time when all the Miley drama was going on but would it still be her favorite song?

Brad Pitt held his and Angelina Jolie’s 3 1/2 year-old-daughter Zahara at Cannes airport in Cannes, France.  The pair hopped a golf cart that took them to a private plane.  I’m guessing that Brad and Z are headed to the Toronto Film festival where Brad is slated to make an appearance. Angelina and Brad have said that make and effort to spend quality time with each child.  Last week, Brad took his two oldest sons to the Venice Film festival.  No word on how long the family will be in France.  I’m sure they are enjoying the privacy.

Christina Aguilera and husband Jordan Bratman headed out for Manhattan dinner with their adorable 8-month-old Max yesterday. My how time flies. It seems like just yesterday that Christina was a singing her little heart out on the New Mickey Mouse Club.  The platinum songstress even took time to sign autographs. Max Liron Bratman’s name means “Our Greatest Song” in Hebrew. The family snagged $1.5 million his People debut.  The first time mother will slated for the Sept 5th Fashion Rocks Benefit. Also performing are Gwen Stefani, The Jonas Brothers, Pink, Kid Rock, Kayne West, Rihanna, TI, Beyonce and Mariah Carey. Proceeds from the event will benefit Stand Up To Cancer.

Finally, we’ve got some decent pics of Halle Berry’s 5-month-old daughter.  Nahla, Halle and Halle’s mom Judith spent some time at the Los Angeles Zoo on Saturday where Nahla laughed it up. Nahla’s dad is model Gabriel Aurby. The two met on a Versace photo shoot.(Photo from shoot below.)

To me Nahla looks more like her dad though you can’t go wrong with either parent’s genes.  Halle will be answering telephone as the during Sept. 5’s Stand Up To Cancer telethon. Other stars slated for the telethon are Mariah Carey, Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, Rihanna, Fergie, Sheryl Crow, Miley Cyrus, Melissa Etheridge, Ashanti, Natasha Bedingfield, Keyshia Cole, Ciara, Leona Lewis, LeAnn Rimes, and Carrie Underwood.
