Dakonta Fanning Works it At Bees Premiere

Dakota Fanning donned a black dress, black heels, black nail polish and superstar smile for The Secret Life of Bees premier at the Toronto Film Festival.   The 14-year-old power actress did it up for the movie’s Friday premier.   The film was adapted from Sue Monk Kidd novel of the same name.

Lily Owens is a young girl who lives on a peach farm that her abusive father owns. Rosaleen black woman hired by Lily’s father to be a stand in mother for Lily (Her real mother died in a horrendous accident that happened when she was a toddler). but when Rosaleen insults some of the biggest racists in their town, Lily is forced to take Rosaleen and run away to a town Lily believer her mother once lived. They go to live with three estranged sisters on a honey farm, and Lily soon learns what it is like to have a real family.

Dakota plays Lilly. She’s joined by Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson(Rosaleen) and Oscar nominees Queen Latifah(August Boatwright) and Sophie Okonedo(May Boatwright). Dakota herself was the youngest person every nominated for a Screen Actors Guild for her role in I Am Sam. With this cast it’s no wonder the film is already getting Oscar buzz.
